📝 Instructions

  1. Wash and cook dal in 3 cups of water with turmeric and salt. Pressure cook or boil until soft.
  2. Cook rice according to package directions.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  4. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic until golden.
  5. Add chopped tomato and cook until soft.
  6. Pour in the cooked dal and simmer for 5 minutes. Mash lightly.
  7. Serve the dal alongside rice.
